Mark Montano: Cardboard Gingerbread House Ornaments

I recently came across this great blog by Mark Montano to make our ornaments this year.  I had been looking for ideas, and this was perfect.

Mark Montano: Cardboard Gingerbread House Ornaments: Two weeks before Thanksgiving I decided to give up sugar so that during the holidays I could splurge a few times without guilt.  It's b...

I adapted this to be a cut file so I could make several at once and on chipboard for the boys to paint with me.  Assembly was pretty easy.  Just a bit of hot glue.  Other materials we used: craft paint, tacky/craftbond glue, ribbon, and I attempted to make a dimensional 'paint' with DAS air-dry clay, but used too much water.

I've uploaded it to Gumroad to download for free or pay-what-you-want.  The cut file is either an SVG or 2 JPGs to cut in the program of your choice.

Journal Jewelry and Acrylic Keychains

Coming soon to GillianIvyArt on Etsy, I will be selling custom journal dangles and keychains featuring my designs.  First are my DragonCats and Gumdrop DragonKitty pieces which feature a 2 color combination of vinyl and option to add a monogram or name to the back.  I have a few other shapes which I have plans for Pride month and a scrying circle.  I'll post pictures of those when I can.

I'll be calculating my costs and pricing on these soon and will list them immediately.  Was hoping to have it ready for Shopping in Shelby, but looks like I might be missing the deadline.  I don't have my inventory finished in a displayable manner and nothing for a table at all.  I need to get myself in gear!  I need to make a portable inventory system, put everything in packaging, get a cash box, get display units for a table, a portable work station...  The list goes on.  And, a babysitter!  hahaha

Follow my behind the scenes @GillianIvyArt on Instagram!

For the planner community, there's a new shape available on my favorite acrylic blanks supplier, a Happy Planner!  I've resisted the urge to buy it right away, but if anyone is interested in taking orders, I'll be making custom ones with my designs on it.  Perhaps even with custom printed covers.  Send me a private message for inquiries.
For anyone who is a maker, too, and is interested in adding vinyl blanks to your repertoire,  Zindee now has a referral program.  You can sign up with my code and I'll earn a commission.  Check out the Happy Planner acrylic blank, it's too adorable!

7 Days - 7 Triangles

I taught myself a new thing!  Thanks to YouTube tutorials anyways.  One, in particular, was rather helpful with clear instructions.

My seed beads are more rounded and I couldn't fit them on my jump rings.  I plan to use these as single piece charms for my key chains.  I've had these beads for several years now.  It is about time that I used them!  I love the color and oil slick tones of the bead mixes I got, "Top Hat", "Vineyard", and "Honey Butter" Czech Seed Beads 11/0.

I had a lot of fun making these and learning a new skill.  Expect to see these soon in my Etsy shop Gillianivyart
